While exploring the linguistic landscape of Papua New Guinea, we encountered a word that carries more weight than any legal contract: Wantok. Literally, it means “one talk.” But in practice, it is a bond of kinship. Your wantok is the person who speaks your language, shares your world, and gets the joke without the explanation.
We realised this was the missing piece in global branding. In the rush to scale, many corporates lose their local soul. They cross borders with the right product but the wrong cultural frequency. The translation is accurate. The feeling is gone.
